Book Recommendation: First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston

Book Recommendation: First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston

"First Lie Wins" by Ashley Elston is currently on my nightstand and I am about 2 chapters deep but I can already tell why it was chosen by Reece Witherspoon herself for her book club in January of this year (you can listen to her TikTok about its selection HERE).  It sounds like a must read you guys!!!  It is the single book chosen as the January pick for both the Reese Witherspoon and Reader’s Digest book clubs, and it is in the top 10 picks by Amazon editors. The novel also appears on four other top book lists for the month.  This isn't one to pass by - its getting a lot of national attention including the attention of Hulu.

That's right, Hulu has acquired the rights to the story to produce a film!

I also recommended this book in my private membership group back in February  so I'm excited to finish this book and engage with my members on how much they loved it and discuss the novel is full.

I will post a video on my socials once I complete the book and have had a chance to discuss it in full.  Follow me HERE so you don't miss it!

The summary written for this book is as follows:

A captivating blend of mystery and coming-of-age tale, perfectly suited for fans of suspenseful young adult (YA) fiction. Set in a small Louisiana town, the story follows protagonist Everly, who finds herself entangled in a web of deceit and secrets after a harmless lie spirals out of control. Elston skillfully weaves together themes of friendship, family, and the consequences of deception, keeping readers on the edge of their seats until the very end. With its relatable characters and gripping plot twists, "First Lie Wins" is sure to leave readers eagerly anticipating Elston's next literary endeavor.

Overall, this book is creating a buzz, its making national headlines and its a must read!  Will be interesting to compare the written version to the film version once Hulu produces it.  Grab one off Amazon, at your local bookstore or swap with a friend that may have read it already.

XO,

Theresa
